Akamai Focuses on Social Media Sites  
Jan. 24  CAMBRIDGE, Mass—Akamai announced its focus on media site acceleration technology led to rapid growth on its platform related to social media sites in 2007.

According to a company press release, in December, Akamai powered 7 of the top 10 most trafficked social networking sites and 92% of US social networking site visits.
